Society of St. Vincent de Paul
" TO SERVE THE POOR IS TO GO TO GOD..."
St. Gabriel Conference:

We are one of 13 conferences within the Halton area, including Burlington, Milton and Oakville Catholic parishes. We assist those living within our parish boundaries who have financial or other needs.

What we do:

Home visits are an integral part of SSVP and are intended to help a client get through a particular difficulty by providing them with short term emergency relief. An assessment is done to get a picture of how someone lives and to ask them how we can help them now. This is often in the form of:

Food or clothing
Food vouchers to local grocery stores
Personal or household supplies
Referrals to community resources that can meet their needs

After a number of visits during which we have connected the client with local service agencies, the focus then turns to how we can help the client help themselves by finding sustainable solutions to improve their financial well-being.

How can our parish help?

Fellow parishioners can support our efforts by:
Making tax deductible donations in the monthly blue collection envelopes or on-line through the Halton Particular Website at http://www.ssvphaltonpc.org/Donate.htm then click on the red DONATE button and select St Gabriel’s church
Participating in our Christmas Angel Tree program
